These Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats are rich, gooey, and crispy with melted chocolate, marshmallows, and a buttery vanilla base — perfect for parties or anytime indulgence.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add 6 cups of the marshmallows (reserving some) and stir constantly until melted.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips, salt, and vanilla until smooth and well combined.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the crispy rice cereal and remaining marshmallows.
  6. Press the mixture gently into the prepared pan using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
  7. Optional: Press a few extra marshmallows or chocolate chips on top while warm.
  8. Let cool completely, then cut into squares and serve.

  • Do not overheat the mixture — low and slow is best.
  • Lightly butter your hands or spatula to prevent sticking.
