Description
Delicious chicken wonton tacos with a crispy shell filled with seasoned chicken and topped with fresh veggies and a creamy sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 wonton wrappers
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin to create taco shells.
- Arrange wonton wrappers in the muffin tin and bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until soft.
- Add ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).
- To assemble the tacos, spoon the seasoned chicken into the crispy wonton shells.
- Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Drizzle with lime juice and sprinkle with chopped cilantro (optional).
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For added flavor, you can drizzle the tacos with your favorite hot sauce.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey or beef for the chicken.
- For a vegetarian version, use seasoned sautéed vegetables or tofu instead of chicken.
