Description

A creamy, comforting Cheesy Asparagus Casserole topped with buttery Ritz crackers and melted cheddar. Perfect for holidays or weeknight dinners, this simple bake delivers pure cozy flavor in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed Ritz crackers (about 4 sleeves)
  • 1 stick butter, melted (8 tbsp)
  • 4 tbsp butter (for sauce)
  • 3 cans (15 oz each) extra-long asparagus, drained
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a medium baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 4 tbsp butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk, whisking constantly until thickened.
  3. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and remove from heat once melted and creamy.
  4. Drain asparagus and layer half in the prepared dish. Pour over half the cheese sauce. Repeat layers, ending with sauce on top.
  5. In a small bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbling.
  7. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving warm.
