Description

A creamy and crunchy cheese slaw made with finely shredded cabbage, sharp cheddar, and a tangy dressing, perfect for serving with crackers or as a flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • About 30 square crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the finely shredded cabbage, shredded cheddar cheese, and sliced green onions to the bowl.
  3. Gently fold everything together until the cabbage and cheese are evenly coated with the dressing.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  5. Stir before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Spoon into a serving bowl and serve with square crackers.

Notes

  • Finely shred the cabbage for the best texture and even coating.
  • Chill before serving to deepen the flavor.
  • Stir gently to avoid breaking down the cabbage.
