Description

This Caprese Sandwich brings together crusty ciabatta, creamy fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, basil leaves, and rich pesto for a simple yet irresistible Italian-inspired lunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 large ciabatta loaf, halved
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup arugula
  • 1/4 cup pesto sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


Instructions

  1. Slice the ciabatta loaf in half horizontally and spread pesto on both sides.
  2. Layer arugula on the bottom half, followed by tomato slices, mozzarella, and basil leaves.
  3. Top with the other half of the ciabatta and press lightly.
  4. Optionally, grill or press the sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side until crisp.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil, slice, and serve immediately.
