Description

These classic butter cookies are buttery, crisp, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Perfect for tea time, holidays, or any occasion where you crave a simple yet delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip or shape into small balls and flatten slightly.
  6. Pipe or place cookies onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too soft to pipe or shape.
  • Dip cooled cookies in melted chocolate for a festive twist.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh and crisp.
