- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Hot fudge sauce, for serving
- Vanilla ice cream, for topping
- Flaky sea salt, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×5 loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat until golden and nutty. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk in brown sugar and granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top and add extra chips if desired.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly soft.
- Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
- Top each slice with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce, and flaky sea salt if using.
Notes
- Don’t overbake for the best fudgy texture.
- Warm slices before serving for a molten center effect.
- Use good quality cocoa and chocolate for deep flavor.
