- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon pine nuts (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Brush each bread round with olive oil, then spread a thin layer of basil pesto on top of each slice.
- Sprinkle Parmesan and mozzarella cheese over the pesto-topped bread.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Optional: Garnish with pine nuts and fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
- For a homemade pesto, blend fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan, olive oil, and salt in a food processor.
