Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are the ultimate party food, featuring crispy, pan-fried chicken cutlets topped with melty mozzarella cheese and drizzled with an irresistible Bang Bang sauce, all nestled in soft slider rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds thin sliced chicken breasts
  • Kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups Panko bread crumbs (or more as needed)
  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slider rolls
  • Bang Bang Sauce (prepared separately)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Set up a breading station: mix flour and cornstarch in one bowl; combine buttermilk, hot sauce, and egg in a second bowl; place Panko bread crumbs in a third bowl.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip into buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, coat with Panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Place breaded chicken on a plate and repeat with remaining pieces.
  5. Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken cutlets in batches, cooking 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Transfer fried cutlets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Whisk Bang Bang sauce ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.
  8. Assemble sliders by cutting chicken into slider-sized pieces, placing on buns, topping with mozzarella slices while chicken is warm, and drizzling with Bang Bang sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, air fry chicken cutlets at 400°F for 8-10 minutes per side.
  • Bang Bang sauce can be prepared up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F to stay juicy.
  • Slider buns can be lightly toasted for extra texture and to prevent sogginess.
