- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
- 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
- Mash avocado with a pinch of salt and set aside. Butter one side of each slice of bread and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet. Layer with half the cheese, avocado, tomato slices, and remaining cheese. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, let rest 1 minute, then slice and serve hot.
