Description

A classic no bake Australian treat made with crushed sweet biscuits, cocoa, coconut, and condensed milk, topped with a smooth glossy layer of chocolate. Rich, slightly crumbly, and perfectly sweet, this slice is ideal for lunchboxes, afternoon tea, and special gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 250 grams plain sweet biscuits, crushed finely
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 125 grams unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 200 grams dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine crushed biscuits, cocoa powder, and desiccated coconut. Stir well.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter gently. Remove from heat and stir in the sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  4. Pour the butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until fully combined.
  5. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the lined baking pan.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the base to firm up.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate gently and stir in the powdered sugar until smooth.
  8. Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the chilled base.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until fully set.
  10. Lift from the pan and slice into 16 squares before serving.

Notes

  • Press the base firmly into the pan to prevent crumbling.
  • Allow the slice to chill completely before cutting for clean edges.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • You can freeze the slice for up to 2 months and thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
