Description

Crispy air fried shredded beef coated in a glossy sweet and spicy chilli sauce, served over fluffy rice with fresh chillies and spring onions for the perfect homemade takeaway style meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sweet chilli sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 to 2 fresh red chillies, thinly sliced
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups cooked white rice


Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced beef with cornflour, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and arrange the beef strips in a single layer.
  4. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sweet chilli sauce, and minced garlic. Simmer gently for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Toss the crispy beef in the warm sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Stir in sliced fresh red chillies and spring onions.
  8. Serve immediately over cooked white rice.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to maintain crispiness.
  • Toss the beef in sauce just before serving to keep the coating crunchy.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crisp texture.
